Webinar Purpose:

In preparing for ICD-10-PCS, it is important that coding professionals start learning the terms and definitions needed to properly assign procedure codes. Many of the terms utilized in ICD-10-PCS have been defined and streamlined and may be different from what has been used in the past. This series focuses on definitions and descriptions necessary to get ready to use ICD-10-PCS. We will discuss definitions, descriptions and examples of each group of root operations, approaches and devices.

Session II will continue our study of root operations dealing with those that involve cutting or separation only and those that put in/back or move some or all of a body part.

  • Discuss the ICD-10-PCS terms definitions, explanations and give examples of each
  • Demonstrate understanding of the usage of the terms through documentation exercises
  • Discuss problem areas that coding professionals will encounter in interpreting physician documentation utilizing the ICD-10-PCS terminology
